Look who's urging corporate governance changes


Castle seiges usually don't end like this.

The typical drill is that the defenders on the ramparts pour boiling oil on the hordes who are smashing the battering ram against the heavy wooden gates. The siege ends when the gates finally give way, or the attackers have had enough of the boiling-oil marinade and go home.

Very rarely do those in the castle throw open the doors and invite the marauders in.

Except in this case -- this case being the battle over corporate governance and the effort to make publicly traded companies more open, responsive and accountable to shareholders.
