The stench of ‘bad governance’

Asad Ali was taking tea and reading a newspaper in the morning at his house on Gulistan Cinema Road when he dropped the cup and the newspaper and ran for cover. The district government, some years ago, started a plan to dispose garbage and make a trench on Sattiana Road with the help of the Department for International Development (DFID) in the UK. The DFID provided funds to materialise the plan, under which donkey carts and handcarts were to be replaced with vehicles, but the plan was later shelved.
