The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has today published 33 non-confidential responses received to its Discussion Paper, Choice in the UK Audit Market. The responses can be viewed at:

A stakeholder meeting will be held on 18 September at which these responses together with plans for any necessary further work will be discussed. The FRC will issue a summary of the responses prior to that meeting.
Commenting on the responses to the consultation, FRC Chief Executive, Paul Boyle said:
“We are very grateful to the large number of individuals and organisations which have responded to our Discussion Paper. The effort which they have made to contribute reinforces the importance of choice in the UK audit market. We are looking forward to hearing the views of stakeholders at our public meeting on 18 September.”
