The Bangladesh Enterprise Institute is going to organise corporate governance week 2008 from January 13 to 17, said president of the institute Farooq Sobhan on Tuesday.
In the five-day programme the BEI will organise seminars on financial sector, board members, state-owned enterprises, role of regulatory bodies and succession planning.
A large number of chairmen, directors, bankers, non-government orgnasitaion officials, representative from the government and regulatory authorities will take part in the programmes, he said at a press conference.
The BEI started its work on corporate governance in 2002 and prepared the first comprehensive code of corporate governance consisting provision for financial institutions and NGOs in 2004, he said.
The former foreign secretary said the institute's current programme, corporate governance strengthening project, was funded by the Dutch government, World Bank and UK-based Department for International Development.
