
The Gender Gap, Around the World

The World Economic Forum yesterday released its annual Global Gender Gap Report. This report attempts to assess how well countries “are dividing their resources and opportunities among their male and female populations, regardless of the overall levels of these resources and opportunities.”
Nordic countries — Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden — took the top four spots in the report’s rankings of most egalitarian societies. The United States was ranked No. 31, three spots lower than it was last year.
