Greenland is a little greener now that its icy surface is melting

Greenland is melting. NASA scientists say they are astonished at how fast its ice sheet is thawing. During just this month, three independent satellites found that in the course of a week the amount of thawed surface ice sheet went from 40 percent to 97 percent — a phenomenon that hasn’t been seen in 30 years of observations.
