Calpers chief says corporations were out to get him

Unfortunately, this rings true. Which means that companies have some influence on investors, particular publicly-controlled funds, and will use that influence to ensure they are left alone.

This should not be allowed to take place, and politicians need to get out of the way and let good corporate governance move in the 'right' direction, rather than in the direction of what is nicer, easier and more comfortable to corporate boards.
