Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Chairman Robert Herz was the guest speaker at the FEI - NJ Chapter meeting on Tuesday, January 18, in West Orange, N.J.
Chairman Herz addressed a mixed audience of about 60 FEI members and non-members of public and private companies.
Chairman Herz structured his remarks in three areas of FASB focus:
1 - Improvement of accounting standards - just one piece of the puzzle towards better reporting
2 - Simplification of standards
3 - International convergence - differential accounting information should not be a friction to improvement in reporting
