Securities Institute of Australia Corporate Governance Principles

"Corporate governance is the system by which companies are directed and managed. It influences how the objectives of the company are set and achieved, how risk is monitored and assessed, and how performance is optimised"

ASX Corporate Governance Council, Principles of Good Corporate Governance and Best Practice Recommendations, March 2003.

As the professional body representing practitioners in the securities and financial services industry, the Securities Institute wants to be seen as a body that leads by example within the industry and, through our daily performance, reflect the same standards expected of major organisations that practice within our industry. We encourage our members to also embrace the spirit and intent of the guidelines in their own workplaces.
