AIG Announces Corporate Governance Initiatives

The Board of Directors of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), has taken additional steps to enhance its corporate governance structure.

The Board has established two new committees: the Regulatory, Compliance and Legal Committee, and the Public Policy and Social Responsibility Committee.

In addition, AIG's Board has reconstituted its Executive Committee. Martin J. Sullivan, AIG President and Chief Executive Officer, will serve as Chairman of the Executive Committee. Also serving on the Executive Committee will be Donald P. Kanak, AIG Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer; Frank J. Hoenemeyer, the Chairmen of the Audit Committee; M. Bernard Aidinoff, Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and Marshall A. Cohen, Chairman of the Compensation Committee.
