Nestle faces shareholder revolt over corporate governance


The Swiss-based food giant Nestle faces a shareholder revolt during its annual general assembly on Thursday over plans to grant chief executive Peter Brabeck dual powers by appointing him chairman of the board.

Two groups, including a Swiss investment fund, Ethos, and ACTARES, a group of smaller shareholders campaigning for ethical business practices, have announced that they intend to submit motions to ensure the two posts remain separate.
