Treasurers push ratings code

The aftershocks from the collapse of Enron and other companies continue to be felt, as international treasury organisations highlight concerns about the conduct and regulation of credit rating agencies.

Two months ago, three prominent treasurer associations in Britain, the United States and France finalised a rating agency code of conduct. It sits alongside another proposed code from the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).
