Address by Reuel J. Khoza at the launch of "The Power of Governance"

For a long time, the global debate on corporate governance failed to focus attention on State Owned Enterprises (SOEs). Most discussions on corporate governance were skewed towards the private sector and tended to view companies as individual rational actors. Ownership by individuals was therefore considered the most basic and natural form of ownership, while institutional ownership especially by the public was not seen as normal or natural.
