Corporate cops

The federal Government, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and the Australian Stock Exchange are united in their belief the corporate cop and share market operator are working well together in policing markets.

Speaking in back-to-back presentations at the Securities & Derivatives Industry Association conference on Saturday, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer Chris Pearce, ASIC chairman Jeffrey Lucy and ASX chief executive Tony D'Aloisio also insisted that the ASX would not retreat from its regulatory role, but left open the possibility of changes.
