A Novelty: A Pro-Biz SEC Chair?

Consumer advocates are chafing at the nomination of California Congressman Christopher Cox as the next chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Cox, a Republican who heads the House Committee on Homeland Security, has a long, pro-business track record, favoring the rollback of taxes on dividends and personal estates, curbs on shareholder litigation and limits to new rules on employee stock-option expensing.
