Privatisation and corporate governance regimes in transition countries - Partnership for Corporate Governance and Secondary Privatization in Transition / Regional Think Tanks Partnership Program

The authors examine trends in post-privatisation changes in the ownership structures of privatised enterprises (so called secondary privatisation) and their relationship to the quality of corporate governance in transition countries, with particular attention to Poland and Russia.

The study focuses on the mutual effects of ownership consolidation processes and the evolution of corporate governance practices. The econometric analysis of data sets containing data on corporate governance, ownership structure, and economic performance for 186 Polish companies and 100 Russian privatized companies was conducted.
