KT Tops in Corporate Governance Survey


KT, South Korea’s largest fixed-line operator, topped a corporate governance ranking of 528 listed companies surveyed in the first half of the year, the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS) said.

The private non-profit organization monitors companies listed on the Korea Stock Exchange to check their achievements in corporate governance.

``The survey results seem to encourage firms to improve their corporate governance,’’ KCGS senior analyst Jung Jae-young said.

According to the survey, overall corporate governance has bettered this year but it is far from satisfactory, because most companies do not pay much attention to the corporate governance system.
