Role of PR in good governance
It began with the Cadbury Report, the seminal work which originated in the UK in 1992. As a youngish counsellor in Burson-Marsteller Kuala Lumpur at the time, I recall memos flying from office to office about its implications.
Some of us might be forgiven for wondering if we were pitching for a chocolate account! Sir Adrian Cadbury was, after all, a member of that dynasty.
There have since been a number of high-profile systemic and enterprise failures which have propelled corporate governance to the top of our business agendas. Now a corporate mantra, it is also the label every good corporate citizen wants to wear.
