SEC to take action against cos violating corporate governance rules


Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman Dr Mirza Azizul Islam yesterday said the Commission is preparing a list of companies involved in certain violations of corporate governance rules and punitive measures would be taken against such companies.

This is to encourage Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) through establishing transparency and accountability of the local corporate companies, he said addressing a seminar on 'Corporate Governance and Control' at the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) conference room.

DCCI and Centre for Development Research Bangladesh (CDRB) jointly organised the seminar, chaired by DCCI president Sayeeful Islam.
