You'll hear about all kinds of employees using portals, but seldom board members. That's something BoardVantage wants to change with the new iteration of portal technology specifically designed for these users.
"The board is one of the workgroups still mired in a paper world," says Joe Ruck, CEO of BoardVantage, adding that this is changing with the times. "In a post-SOX [Sarbanes-Oxley] world, there's more communication, more meetings."
BoardVantage tracks, manages, and enhances this communication with basic features like materials review, consent workflows, director questionnaires, and Web conferencing. The company has built its technology with the specific needs of board members in mind. "It has to be simple," Ruck says. "Boards don't have IT support, and they won't use the portal every day."
