Private Sector is Antidote to Corruption


Several definitions and arguments have linked the act of corruption to the behaviour on the part of officials in the public sector. This is however incomplete as it ignores the role of the private sector in both fuelling and combating corruption.

Today, corruption is increasingly becoming one of the leading problems for business and citizens worldwide.

The linkage between the private and public sectors are very crucial for the anti-graft crusade. Corruption can be illustrated in two broad frameworks- the supply and demand side. The supply side of corruption involves those parties that are providing money payments, gifts or any other forms of expressing gratitude for services.
