Where Does Compliance Start And End?

When we first mapped out the coverage plan for Compliance Pipeline prior to its launch, we had to determine our level of focus in the related technology areas. Security, storage, systems management and messaging were obvious technology areas that would be integral to compliance management. And we have outstanding Pipeline sites that focus deeply on those technologies.

My initial thoughts were that we would highlight products and technologies in these related areas that moved the compliance needle. In other words, we’d showcase technology that made it easier to manage and demonstrate compliance with internal, industry and regulatory requirements. And we’d assume that things like a secure IT infrastructure were a baseline requirement, an ante to get into the compliance game. After all, how can you attest to particular controls when you can’t protect your records from external or internal threats?
