
Stephen Jarislowsky, veteran investment manager and corporate ethics crusader, is turning his attention to the public sector.
Jarislowsky is helping establish a centre for good governance that will encourage institutions like hospitals to set up independent boards of directors. Jarislowsky said Monday he believes good governance in hospitals can contribute to resolving the health-care crisis by making the institutions more efficient and accountable.
"We'll start with the hospitals because they are the most difficult and the most necessary," Jarislowsky said in an interview following a speech to the Canadian Club.
