Terming the Company Secretary as the conscience keeper and protector of ethics of a company, CII Chief Mentor Tarun Das said these professionals must lead firms towards good corporate governance.
''The Company Secretary, being the centre, the hub of the company, can be a leader who can make another Infosys happen,'' he said delivering the Foundation Day Lecture on ''The Professionals - Partners in National Development'', organised by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India on the Silver Jubilee of its Statutory Status and Foundation Day.
Speaking on the role of Company Secretary, Mr Das said they can also push the companies to undertake at least one social issue as mission. They can act as the central figure in building synergy and organisation trust, he added.
