Global: Nordic Countries Dominate Global Competitiveness Index as Developing Countries Continue to Languish


The World Economic Forum yesterday published its 2004 global competitiveness index, spanning 104 countries. The table threw up few surprises, with the Nordic countries dominating the top 10 and other advanced economies - including the US and most European Union nations - also performing strongly. The story for other regions, notably Latin America and Africa, was less encouraging.
