ICAEW wants action on UK law reform


In its submission on draft clauses to be included in the forthcoming Companies Bill, the Institute has called for the swift introduction of legislation to help drive through much needed company law reform.

Commenting on the submission, Institute President Ian Morris said:

“The Companies Bill is the culmination of a review process that has lasted many years. The object should now be to get the legislation on the statute books.”

In its submission the Institute has welcomed the broad thrust of the Bill and in particular the commitment to ‘Think Small First’ but has raised a number of concerns about the detailed drafting of the clauses which may not achieve their intent.
