
The Third International Symposium on Corporate Governance was held in the Nankai University in North China's Port City of Tianjin Tuesday.
Recently, the corporate governance of Chinese enterprises has triggered concern among Chinese and foreign experts and scholars, especially after the disclosure of cases concerning corporate governance of several China-linked stocks overseas. This includes China Aviation Oil (Singapore) Corporation, which sources jet fuel for China, which is in deep trouble after losing US$550 million in speculative oil trades.
More than 300 experts and scholars on corporate governance from major universities in the United States, Britain, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong attended the symposium. The symposium received more than 200 papers.
