
Pension fund action plans are hotting up. Many cover new ground and involve funding more sophisticated investment approaches. Most pension trustee boards have expanded their knowledge and raised their game, often assisted by the addition of financially savvy in-house representatives.
It wasn't long ago that investment professionals lamented the "glacial" speed of typical trustee decisions, as they waited for their new products to receive funding. No one wanted to be different. But the metaphorical ice caps have been melting. Trustees are taking action and the resulting investment solutions are as individual and innovative as the businesses that sponsor the pension schemes.
