New law to end misery of German AGM


The German annual general meeting will never be the same again. From tomorrow, new legislation will put an end to marathon AGMs - where small investors traditionally have taken the floor for hours at a time.

The so-called UMAG law gives company chairmen the right to save time at AGMs by cutting short investors' speeches and by answering questions via the company's web site rather than in situ.
