Survey suggests CEOs still call the shots


Chief executives are still calling the shots at the boardroom table, even though company directors are supposed to be wielding more power after corporate reforms intended to boost their independence.

Despite the Sarbanes-Oxley law, the reform measure enacted after a wave of financial scandals, the CEO is still the one primarily responsible for setting the board's agenda, according to a survey of corporate directors at 2,000 of the largest U.S. companies.
