
A wave of investor activism in the Netherlands that has forced change at leading companies including VNU, Unilever and Royal Dutch Shell had caused panic among senior supervisory board members, said the Netherlands' leading shareholder rights campaigner.
Peter Paul de Vries, director of VEB, the Dutch shareholders association, told the Financial Times: "The older supervisory board members I have met are absolutely confused. Their eyes have been opened."
