The course costs US$1,000. The price includes refreshments and lunch but not evening meals and overnight accommodation. Applications should be sent as a letter outlining why you are interested in CSR in Asia and what you hope to get out of the course. This should be sent to Chenyan Liu at cliu@csr-asia.com.
The course is highly practical and workshop based. Delegates will be given problems to consider and practical exercises based on the sorts of challenges faced by CSR managers in the Asia-Pacific region. There will also be case studies to study and discuss including: Coca-Cola and water in India; Newmont and gold mining in Indonesia; The Cambodian garment industry and labour standards, and; Gold Peak Batteries and occupational health. Participants can also take part in a one day trip to Shenzhen, Southern China to experience at first hand some of the issues addressed in the course. We will be undertaking a factory visit and talking to local officials about CSR, SA8000 and other initiatives in the area.
