
The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies has published the agenda for its previously announced meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss proposed preliminary recommendations for inclusion in the Committee’s final report to the Commission. The report is due in April 2006.
The meeting is to be held at the SEC’s headquarters at 100 F Street, N.E., Washington, D.C., in Multi-Purpose Room L006, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which will be audio webcast on the Commission’s website at www.sec.gov/news/otherwebcasts.shtml.
The Advisory Committee was established by the SEC to examine the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and other federal securities laws on smaller public companies. The Committee has held hearings in various parts of the country since June 2005.
