WBCSD member companies obtained high grades in a recently published ranking on the social and environmental performance of major companies that do business in Canada.
The report, based on a collaboration between Jantzi Research, The Globe and Mail's Report on Business (ROB) Magazine and GlobeScan, includes feature stories on some of the most compelling issues in CSR today, such as corporate governance, reporting and disclosure, and the public's influence on corporate behavior.
According to Michael Jantzi, President of Jantzi Research, “market research tells us that a majority of Canadians believe that companies should go beyond their traditional economic role and have indicated a willingness to punish companies that do not meet their expectations. The ROB Magazine report is an important empowerment tool, as it provides the information investors and consumers need to put these beliefs into action."
