City collects two awards for excellence in budgeting and financial reporting

The City of Vancouver is pleased to announce receiving two awards for excellence in budgeting and financial reporting.

The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) presented the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the city's Biennial 2005-2006 Budget Report. According to the GFOA "the award reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, the city had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation." A Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation was also presented to the city's Budget Office.
