IASB opens door to accounting debate


The International Accounting Standards Board has bowed to criticism from companies and accountants by agreeing to re-open a debate on the basics of financial reporting.

The decision is the IASB's most significant move yet to quell rising discontent over International Financial Reporting Standards, which were introduced across the European Union last year and have come under fire for making accounts more impenetrable.
