Staying@Work™ 2005/2006
An increasing number of employers are designing and implementing programs that focus on their employees’ total health and productivity. The goal of these programs — which include health management, health improvement, prevention (at home and at work), safety and short-term absence management — is to engage employees, help them stay healthy and productive and, if needed, return to work quickly.
This year’s Staying@Work study demonstrates that companies with a health and productivity strategy boost their bottom line. In particular, organizations that invest in multiple best practices and integrate health and productivity programs are achieving desired results such as reducing costs and lost time (both the rate and the duration of absences) as well as improving employee health. However, many organizations still lack data measurement and thus the ability to identify which programs have the greatest impact and return on investment.
