AWB a 'disaster waiting to happen'
AWB was set up so badly that it was a disaster waiting to happen, experts have said.
Corporate Governance International said damning evidence from the oil-for-food inquiry reflected the lack of accountability from a company in which grain growers had all the power and the owners, whose investment was at stake if things went wrong, had no control.
CGI director Sandy Easterbrook said the Government, which had privatised the wheat board, and the Australian Stock Exchange were also to blame for letting a Frankenstein loose on the stock exchange.
