Getting on board
Some companies still don't get it. Even after four years of scandals, get-tough rules and shareholder demands, there are corporate boards that have failed to change their ways.
The Report on Business fourth annual Board Games study (see chart) of Canada's top boards has found plenty of reasons to believe that reforms in the boardroom are not a passing fad.
But it has also unearthed several examples of firms holding on to old habits -- family members deciding what their relatives get paid, former executives policing the books, directors on the company payroll who are called independent.
