Govt asks PSEs to imbibe good corporate governance
The government today asked the Public Sector Enterpises to imbibe good corporate governance practices to sustain growth and to gain the competitive edge in an increasingly integrating global marketplace.
"We have to understand that empowerment of the Boards and Corporate governance are mutually reinforceable notions and the Directors are crucial link in between these two concepts. Professionalisation of Boards and empowerment have to go hand-in-hand and induction of Independent directors will help in making PSEs getting listed," Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Sontosh Mohan Dev said, delivering his inaugural address at the Second Directors Certification Programme on Corporate Governance here.
