Spreadsheet Compliance
The humble spreadsheet actually occupies a strategic position in compliance because it is often used as an input to financial reports. Now enterprise content management (ECM) provider Mobius has debuted a new standalone solution for spreadsheet compliance of the sort that might be required under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation but that could extend to other such mandates.
"We're not looking to chance the way people work with spreadsheets," says Garth Landers, director of the spreadsheet product (known as Audit and Balancing System for Spreadsheet Compliance) for Mobius. "We want to improve the review and auditing processes." Click here to find out more!
The spreadsheet compliance solution, which costs an average of $125,000, has its own repository and collaboration mechanism. It can import spreadsheets, track changes made to them, and finally provide reporting and tracking mechanisms for managers and/or auditors. "It tracks metadata like time, date, end user, changing values, and formula changes," says Landers by way of example. "When you need to review and approve, you can find key changes very quickly."
