In a letter to the SEC, acting PCAOB chair Bill Gradison promised "new enhancements to the inspections process for 2006" in response to recommendations by PCAOB staff as a result of a review of the division that carries out inspections of auditing firms. The comments accompanied the Office of Internal Oversight and Performance Assurance's (IOPA) review of PCAOB's Division of Registration and Inspections.
The review made five recommendations to the division:
