The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific announces the 3rd Asia-Pacific Business Forum (APBF), to be held on 7-8 April 2006 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The APBF provides a unique platform for dialogue among business, governments, academia and civil society on social and economic policy issues and their implications for the region’s economies and it fosters region-wide networking opportunities.
The President of Indonesia, H.E. Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono; the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Hon. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad; the Secretary-General of UNCTAD, Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi as well as other high-profile speakers including several Heads of State of Pacific Island countries, a number of ministers, and members of the Asia-Pacific Business Advisory Council (BAC) of UNESCAP will grace the Forum, which focuses on how the public and private sectors could work together to ensure sustainable economic and social development.
