Better Governance Forum
Effective corporate governance resides at the heart of the Government's agenda to continually modernise and improve public services. There is also a recognised need for public sector organisations to work together to counter fraud and corruption, implement effective risk management strategies and to promote good conduct and behaviour and high ethical standards within public services. Further, Freedom of Information and Data Protection requires processes and policies to ensure that information is processed and stored legally and retrieved efficiently.
In addition to all this, organisations need to have proper systems in place to prevent violence in the workplace and ensure business continuity planning to ensure civil resilience. Specialist processes correctly applied in these fields are part of the public's definition of a modern organisation.
