Good Corporate Governance


Events that unfolded at the offices of the Ghana International Airline (GIA) last Friday created confusion in the minds of many who did not know what was happening at the Silver Star Tower offices of the airline, especially so when the government is the majority shareholder.

It is important that the Chief of Staff, Mr Kwadwo Okyere Mpiani, has come out to state that he did not fire the GIA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Brian Presbury, but that it was the board of directors of the company which did so, because that could have sent wrong signals about our professed respect for due process and law and order.

For the time that the airline has been in operation, there has been every indication in the eyes of outsiders that the company is on the way to success.
