HK chief explains governance ideas on radio
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Chief Executive Donald Tsang shared his governance ideas with local residents on the radio Monday morning, saying the government must make necessary adjustments in policies and plans according to public views.
Speaking on RTHK's routine radio talk show "Dialogue with the Chief Executive," Tsang said the HKSAR government will continue to pursue a strong governance of administration for the sake of the people, whose views will be closely followed in the policy-making process.
"If there is a change in public views, policy implementation must be adjusted accordingly," Tsang said.
Taking the West Kowloon Cultural District project as an example, Tsang said the government had adjusted its development plan following public opinion changes by dropping the single tender requirement and lowering the ratio of commercial and residential elements.
