International Cooperation for Compliance


The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the United Kingdom Financial Services Authority (UKFSA) sign a comprehensive arrangement to increase cooperation in market oversight and supervision.

SEC Chairman Christopher Cox and UK FSA Chief Executive Officer John Tiner executed the Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Consultation, Cooperation and the Exchange of Information Related to the Supervision of Financial Services Firms and Market Oversight at a meeting at SEC headquarters in Washington. The arrangement will facilitate the exchange of confidential supervisory information currently collected by both regulators.
