Glass Ceiling? Get a Hammer


WOMEN who want to make it to the top in corporate America face many hurdles, but the obstacles are surmountable, says Linda A. Livingstone, dean of the business school at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif. Here are excerpts from a conversation:

Q. Are women fully represented in business schools?

A. The typical breakdown of an M.B.A. classroom is about 25 percent female. It's not at the 50-50 level. That's a concern, particularly when we see law and medical schools moving to 50 percent or more in terms of female attendance.
