EU call to open hedge funds to investors
Careful with the opportunities given to investors. Many hedge funds have just appeared with no particular experience or knowledge, other than the desire for the quick buck, to be seen as innovative and as a player.
Investors need to be professional and careful before they should consider investing in most of these cowboys.

The European Union's $325bn hedge fund industry should be free to offer its services across different member states and face fewer obstacles when marketing its products to investors, according to a report released by the European Commission on Tuesday.
The paper offers broad support to an industry that has often been the target of attacks by national politicians. It urges policymakers and regulators in the EU not to burden hedge funds with additional regulation, and actually calls for the abolition of existing rules that restrict investor access to such funds.
