NUS-SID conference 2006 - Transforming your Board

About the event
The fourth annual NUS-SID conference, organised by the Corporate Governance & Financial Reporting Centre (CGFRC) of the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID), was held at the Ritz Carlton Millenia, Singapore on 20 July 2006 . The theme for this year's conference was “Transforming Your Board” where issues such as board and management succession, effective management of the Board-CEO relationship and institutional investors' expectations of boards were discussed.
The event comprised of three eminent keynote speakers from the US and UK: Mr David Daniel, US-based CEO of Spencer Stuart; Mr Patrick Dunne, Group Communications Director of UK-based 3i Group plc and well-known author of several books on board practices; and Mr Peter C. Clapman, US-based CEO of Governance for Owners USA Inc. and former Senior Vice President and Chief Counsel (Corporate Governance) of TIAA-CREF, one of the largest pension funds in the world. In addition to the Guest of Honour, Mrs Lim Hwee Hua, Minister of State for Finance and for Transport, prominent guests who attended the opening ceremony included Mr S. Dhanabalan, Chairman of Temasek Holdings; Prof Tommy Koh, Ambassador-at-large and director of SingTel; and Mr Hsieh Fu Hua, CEO of Singapore Exchange.
